Privacy Policy

This is a convenience translation of our German Datenschutzerklärung. In the event of any discrepancy, the German version is legally binding.

This policy informs you pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR about how we process personal data when you visit Trikot Scout.

2. Server log files

When you access our pages, our hosting provider automatically collects information that your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of access, the URL requested, the amount of data transferred, the referrer URL, and browser and operating-system details. This data serves solely the technically error-free operation and the security of the website.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, stable operation). Storage period: short-term, usually a few days. Processor (hosting): Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin. A data processing agreement (DPA) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the hosting provider.

3. Cookies

We use a technically necessary session cookie that is required for the basic functions of the website (e.g. protection against cross-site request forgery). No tracking or reach measurement takes place via cookies. Legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. A consent banner is not required for this.

4. Product search

We process search queries in order to show you matching shirt offers. The query is passed to our own search engine running on the same server; no search terms are shared with third parties. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Redirect to the shops

When you click “To the shop”, we redirect you to the respective retailer via our own server. In doing so we only count, anonymously, which offer was clicked how often — without IP address, without any identifier, without a cookie. No conclusion about your identity is possible; the figures serve statistics and the settlement with the partner programmes only. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

6. No external content / no CDN

All resources needed for display – fonts, scripts, stylesheets, the charting library for the price history, and the product images – are served exclusively from our own server. Product images are fetched once from the retailers’ product data and cached locally; therefore, when a page is loaded, no transmission of your IP address to third parties (such as the retailers’ content delivery networks) takes place.

7. Affiliate / partner programmes

Trikot Scout is financed through partner programmes. When you click a commission link marked with (*) “To shop”, you are first redirected via an affiliate network to the website of the respective retailer. In doing so we participate in the affiliate networks AWIN, Impact and Tradedoubler:

AWIN AG, Eichhornstraße 3, 10785 Berlin, Germany.
Privacy policy: https://www.awin.com/de/datenschutzerklarung

Impact Tech, Inc., 223 East De La Guerra Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, USA – via this network we broker, among others, the Fanatics partner programme.
Privacy policy: https://impact.com/privacy-policy/
As the provider is based in the USA, a redirect may involve a transfer of personal data to a third country (USA). This is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), on which the provider relies according to its privacy policy.

Tradedoubler GmbH, Mainzer Straße 13, 80804 Munich, Germany.
Privacy policy: https://www.tradedoubler.com/privacy-policy

When you click a commission link, the affiliate network may set its own cookies or process a click identifier (e.g. time of click, IP address, referrer) in order to attribute a later purchase to the referral. This processing takes place only after the redirect, on the systems of the network or the retailer; we have no influence over it, and the data protection terms of the respective provider apply. We ourselves receive only aggregated commission and statistics data with no reference to your person. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in financing our free service).

8. Contacting us

If you contact us by email, we process your details in order to handle your enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry is aimed at a contract. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required.

9. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data vis-à-vis the controller:

10. Right to object to data processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data; this also applies to profiling based on those provisions. If you object, we will no longer process your affected personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims (Art. 21(1) GDPR).

11. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data (Art. 77 GDPR).

12. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser’s address bar changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar. When encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

13. Objection to promotional emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published under the imprint obligation for sending promotional and information material that has not been expressly requested. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of promotional information, for example by spam emails.
